Cozy Glamping Escapes in the USA for Winter Beauty and Luxury
Written by Kaelie Piscitello
Across the United States, glamping stays range from hand-restored ghost towns to cozy tiny house retreats. They all provide an escape for travelers seeking something beyond the typical camping experience. If you love immersing yourself in nature but still want the comforts of home, glamping offers the perfect blend of outdoor adventure and modern comfort.

Soak in mineral hot springs at Dunton Hot Springs in Colorado or ski near a tiny house in Mount Hood. You will love the breathtaking scenery and curated activities that allow people to reconnect with nature in style.
Dutton Hot Springs: Dolores, Colorado
Dolores, Colorado, was once a tenth-century ghost town, but a company was restored to a fabulous resort. Before this southwestern Colorado resort was a hot spring resort, it functioned as a mining camp. Later, in the early 1900s, it turned into a ghost town as the miners closed up shop and moved out.

Dunton’s location makes you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. It sits an hour away from the closest town. While feeling lost in the wilderness, you can still enjoy the comforts of home through the hand-restored cabins with modern amenities, such as heated floors and open kitchens. Dutton has a collection of 13 luxury cabins that can host up to 44 guests at once.
Dunton rebuilt the original cabins in the original style to provide people with all fancy modern amenities. In short, they added nicer bathrooms than villagers had back in the day. If you want to visit Dutton, consider renting the town for special events like weddings and retreats.
When staying in the Dutton Hot Springs, enjoy various outdoor winter sports, including snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. An Olympic Nordic skier designed all the trails here, so you can expect to feel challenged by the terrain. Of course, do not forget to soak in the glorious mineral hot springs and feel warmth throughout your body.
Mount Hood, Tiny House Village, Oregon

Set in Oregon, Mt. Hood Tiny House Village will make your tiny house dreams come true. The small homes are one hour away from Portland and near Mount Hood National Forest, leaving you plenty of room to soak up the undisturbed wilderness. These “petite retreats” allow you to rent a tiny house, cabin, tent, or teepee and stay there and relax, relax, relax.
When staying in Mt. Hood, you can go hiking and biking often. Explore Trillium Lake or take the Lolli-pop loop to the Ramona Falls Trail. In the winter, go skiing in the Mt. Hood Skibowl and trek through the Wildwood Recreation Site, a three-quarter mile paved loop with a fish viewing window to see local salmons swimming. You can also visit Philip Foster Farm and experience living and working on a farm.
In Oregon, Mount Hood has locations spread across the United States, including Tuxbury, Sunshine Key, and Leavenworth. Stays range from around $140 to $160/per night, but they house a few people simultaneously.
Under Canvas
Under Canvas is a glamping chain with many destinations around the USA, including national parks and landmarks. You can experience the Under Canvas lifestyle in Zion, MOAB (Arches National Park), Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite, and more.

At Under Canvas, all amenities include fire pits for s’mores, camp activities, on-site dining, housekeeping, and pet-friendly spaces. Furthermore, the tent sizes and accommodations depend on your needs. Most have private bathrooms (except for kids’ and safari tents). Finally, each space sleeps 2-4 people.
The type of landscape you choose to stay in determines the adventures you will encounter at each site. For example, the Acadia location offers an oyster aquaculture tour and pirate cruise, while the Bruce Canyon site provides white water rafting and ziplining. Of course, you can go hiking in most of these places. Furthermore, all locations have fun indoor activities, including live music, bingo, and yoga.
Huttopia: The White Mountains, New Hampshire
Huttopia offers a private chalet experience in New Hampshire’s White Mountains where you can cozy up in some of New England’s tallest peaks. Most amenities sleep 2-5 people, depending on the accommodation you choose. All lodgings have either wood or canvas materials.
Furthermore, each place provides eco-friendly shower amenities and towels, allows pets and down and feather blankets, and has a private BBQ and fire pit! If you choose to travel with children, rent a baby kit complete with a high chair and crib.
When staying in Huttopia, you can’t miss the Airstream food truck, a camping trailer that converts into a full kitchen with a pizza oven! You can come anytime for coffee, a smoothie, a pastry, or a crepe! You also must visit the tented lodge for foosball, board games, lounge areas, and reading nooks. Don’t forget to explore the swimming pool there too.

Other Destinations to Consider
Remember to consider other glamping destinations too! Many people love glamping in Montana so they can experience Glacier or Yellowstone National Park in comfort. Don’t forget about Maine. Travel to Bar Harbor and enjoy the Acadia mountains with a seaside view! Also, try the delicious New England seafood and those Maine lobsters!
