All About Postcard Getaway’s New Support Group for People Living with Alopecia

Written by Kaelie Piscitello

Welcome to Alopecia Circle, a new support group for people living with Alopecia. I have had this auto immune disease for around 15 years and have decided to create this group so people like me can share resources and ideas with others. I want to create a community where everyone feels comfortable asking questions and telling their story.

Alopecia Circle will hold a monthly Zoom meeting on the third Saturday of each month at 9 am. Each will have a predetermined topic for members to gain valuable advice and ask questions relating to that theme. Some themes will include wig care, hair styles for covering spots, makeup tutorials, discussions about treatments, and more.

I also plan to post more articles about Alopecia as well, so please stay tuned for those. You can read the articles I have written about Alopecia here.

Our First Meeting

Alopecia Circle is hosting its first meeting this month on October 18. It will take place from 9 am-10 am EST and we will have a general conversation about what living with Alopecia is like. I hope to see you there!

Resources and an Important Note

I have created this group as an Alopecia patient hoping to inspire a positive community, but unfortunately, am not a doctor and cannot offer you medical advice. If you have any specific questions regarding Alopecia treatments or the science behind it, please refer to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, or ask your doctor.
